George Hepplewhite was an English cabinet and furniture maker working in England in the 1800s. His ‘Cabinetmaker and Upholsterer’s Guide’ was published in 1788 two years after his death. His style had a light simplicity with classical undertones – he was particulary famous for his chairs.
