Refectory table styles varied but such tables were popular all over Europe. Oak was the most common wood used and the tables are always very chunky and great for withstanding the vigours of daily family use. Oak refectory tables are a great family dining piece and look great with rustic farmhouse style chairs such as Windsor, ladderback or spindleback chairs, or perhaps a bench. Refectory tables with barley twist legs were also common and popular.
There’s nothing like the cosy farmhouse look which is so popular now and every interior designers dream. We have a large combination of kitchen dining sets – whether it’s a refectory table with a set of ladderbacks, or a barley twist table with spindlebacks. Or Mary Tudor, Elizabethan oak chairs with a gateleg table then we’ve got the look. Our range of Windsor dining chairs are also very popular and look great around an oak refectory table. If you can’t see what you want let us know!
Then of course we have the gorgeous oak refectory table which is a perfect match to the chairs
You are viewing a delightful English oak refectory table with a matching set of 8 Gothic revival chairs. I hope the photos do this stunning set some justice, it’s certainly more impressive in the flesh. If you are looking for that cosy, rustic, provincial farmhouse look then – this is it!
